Management of Ozone Depleting Substances (ODS)

Management of Ozone Depleting Substances (CFCs, HCFCs & HALON) (Regulation Ε C No. 1005/2009, amended by Regulation EC No. 744/2010)

Since 2008 INTERGEO has started to expand its activities in the field of management of substances that deplete the ozone layer, such as CFCs, HCFCs and Halon. Furthermore, INTERGEO is licensed to store and provide the market with (Halon Bank), quantities of Halon for critical uses according to EC Regulation 1005/2009, as amended by EC Regulation 744/2010 – Annex VI.

Controlled Substances that Deplete the Ozone Layer

The controlled substances that belong to the category of CFCs, HCFCs are met mostly in cooling systems, air – conditioning and correspond to the following code of the European Waste Catalogue (ΕWC):

 14 06 01*/ chlorofluorocarbons, HCFC, HFC

Halons are met mostly in fire suppression systems and correspond to the following code of the European Waste Catalogue (ΕWC):

16 05 04*/ gases in pressurised containers (including halons) containing dangerous substances

Legislative Framework

The management of ODS is being made under the following valid legislative provisions:
